The Open Water Diver  course is the world’s most popular scuba diving course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. If you’ve always wanted to get a scuba diving certification, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. Upon completion, you will be certified to dive with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

  • Minimum age is 10 years, and if you are between 10-14 years old you will qualify for the Junior Open Water Diver certification, after which you can only dive under adult supervision.

  • Check the medical questionnaire to determine if you meet the health requirements

  • Easier if you are comfortable in the water and in good health.

  • You must be able to swim 200 meters or snorkel 300 meters.

  • Be able to float in water too deep to stand for 10 minutes.

  • 3 or 4 days free time and sense of adventure and fun

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

  • Knowledge Development (Either online with eLearning, home study or in a classroom with the instructor) to understand the basic principles of scuba diving by watching the Open Water Diver video, using the Open Water Diver manual and completing 5 knowledge review, 4 short quizzes and one final exam (50 multiple choice questions).

  • 5 Confined Water Dives to learn and master basic scuba skills.

  • 4 Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore.

  • Dedicated Instructors to help guide you along the way.

WHAT'S NEXT?

With the Open Water Diver qualification, you are then eligible to enroll in the Advanced Open Water Course.
